Check a certificate without a Stria account

Anyone holding the fingerprint can confirm an approval on a public page that never reveals the signer’s email or IP address.

A fingerprint printed on a PDF that nobody outside your workspace can check is a claim, not evidence. So the certificate carries a link to a public verification page, and the counterparty holding it can use it without an account and without any relationship to Stria.

  1. Open the verification page, or follow the link printed on the certificate.
  2. Paste the full 64-character fingerprint. A label such as "SHA-256:" and any line breaks from copying are cleaned up for you.
  3. Read the verdict.

A match returns what a verifier needs and nothing more: the title of what was approved, your workspace name, the version number, the signatory names with their timestamps, and whether the content is still intact. It never returns the signer’s email address or IP, because confirming that the names on the paper match the record does not require the signer’s contact details.

The integrity answer is recomputed at the moment you ask rather than read from storage. Stria rebuilds every version hash from the current contents of the record and re-checks the chain, so a deliverable altered after signing reports as changed even though the approval row still carries its original fingerprint. That is the whole point of printing a hash.

Note: A partial fingerprint is refused rather than partially matched, and an unknown one returns a plain negative with no hint. Both are deliberate: prefix search would turn one certificate into a way to go fishing for other people’s documents.

A signed contract, statement of work or change order reports its signatories and whether every party has signed, but leaves the integrity field blank. A document hash covers its own content at signing time and there is no version chain behind it to re-derive, so reporting an unverified check as passing would be a lie in the one place a lie matters most.

Open the verification page — in your Stria workspace.
