Idle minutes, long sessions, and honest hours

Why the stop dialog offers to drop minutes, and why a very long session is not billable by default.

Stria watches for stretches where nothing happened and offers to drop them when you stop the clock. You can change the number or set it to zero. The point is your effective hourly rate: an hour you did not work makes every rate calculation read lower than it earned.

A session longer than eight hours is treated as a forgotten clock rather than a marathon. The stop dialog says so and leaves Billable unticked. If you really did work all night, tick it.

Note: That default is deliberately lopsided. Under-billing a genuine long session is a conversation with a client; over-billing seventeen hours nobody worked is an invoice that should not exist.

Unticking Billable does not discard the time. The hours still count toward what you worked, which is what keeps your real hourly rate accurate — they just do not go on an invoice.
